Bricks, Bricks and more Bricks...

So some of you may or may not know that my Sister and parents are going halvesies in a new build (also with Beechwood) up at Chisholm. Anyway one weekend we decided to all traipse up to Beresfield as the two brick suppliers were up there. Austral & PGH.

So we walked into the first one, PGH, and boy that was an interesting experience. We walked it and it felt like i was diseased or something...
We walked in... wandered around and then walked straight out without getting a hello or any sort of acknowledgement at all. We went out into the yard but it can be a bit confusing trying to figure out which ones are standard and which ones are an upgrade. To be honest - I am not a fan of Beechwood's standard PGH range... Its all red and yellow colours which is so far from the grey tones i am after. We eventually got the attention of someone (after my dad went back inside and said hello - we need help!) They pointed out to us they standard range and then ran away back inside. At any rate we very quickly decided that we were not a fan and so promptly left.

Juyst down the road is Austral and boy is this a completely different experience. From the moment you walk in you get a super cheery HELLO! and immediately they come out from around the desk to greet us and ask if we needed any help.

I must say Lorenzo and i we have some very opposing views at times but we both walked out that the Austral Yard and pretty much immediately agreed on the same brick!

We both instantly fell in love with the Whitsunday Brampton. It suited the roof we had already decided on (Colorbont - Monument) and seemed to be the perfect brick. One thing i loved about Austral is that they have this fantastic room whereby you can take a sample of the brick/s you like and they also have a list of homes in surrounding suburbs who have used the chosen brick so you can see it. This is an amazing idea as it is one thing to see it in the brick yard but it is another to see it as a whole house with a roof, windows and doors.

You see my predicament is the brick i loved so much in the yard... i HATED when i saw it on the houses!!

ITS TOO BROWN!! :( :( :(

So now we are back to square one!
